The book was selected as the 2001 Book of the Year by the British Journal of Sports Medicine. Its appeal is that it is a comprehensive text on sports medicine and it adopts a broad, multi-disciplinary approach, therefore, sells well in fields such as massage therapy, physiotherapy and musculoskeletal specialties, as well as to sports physicians and sports trainers.
