Meer info "From 1815-1817, Cramp sailed on board the Princess Charlotte to India and visited Madras, Bombay, and Bengal. After returning to England, he voyaged to Australia in the convict ship Lady Castlereagh, where he arrived in April of 1818. He gives a description of New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). The ship then traveled to Madras and took on cargo; a terrific storm blew up, causing great damage to the ship. Having obtained his acquittal from the Lady Castlereagh. Cramp journeyed overland, giving geographical descriptions and observations on native life, religion, and customs. At Bombay, he joined the ship Marquis of Huntly as captain's clerk, and traveled to Calcutta, Canton, Macao, Malaya, and St. Helena; he returned to England in 1821." (Hill). Also containing Recollections of Sicily by Count de Forbin on pages 44-112.
