Wie die liebe Sonne ihren Tag zubrachte is a German translation of the Dutch book Hoe 't zonnetje haar dag besteedde (1923). The four polychrome illustrations by Rie Cramer (1887-1977) show a beautiful image of childhood in soft colours and hard lines. As an illustrator Cramer was inspired by English artists like Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. Their style is mainly reflected in her use of color and line. Cramer was (and still is) one of the greatest Dutch illustrators. B2331
