Very good; it is fresh in every aspect. Complete with all their maps and plans, a very good facsimile reprint of 1971 with solid binding, Besides it comes with a dust-jacket, it also contains an extra general map of Russia from Baedeker Russie 1902 in facsimile. Very telling description of the Russian state at the eve of WWI and the October Revolution. At that time the imperial state included countries as Finland, Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic Republics, currently independent states. Furthermore it describes excursions to distant destinations as Tehran (then capital of Persia), Port Arthur (then a Chinese but Japanese-conquered port leased temporarily to Russia, now called Lüshunkou District in China) and Peking (Beijing). The most respectful, accurate reprint of Hinrichsen E244. A very clean copy (though with an ink cross-out of a previous owner on the front flyleaf); solid binding. It seems not to have been much consulted. |
