Very scarce first edition of this first-hand account of the Polar voyage of the yacht 'Blencathra', an in-depth work on an exciting expedition from Britain, through northern Norwegian Waters, Barents and Kara Seas, up the Yenisey River to Gol'chikha, and return to Archangel; with notes on the Lapps and Samoyeds. The book recounts Peel’s personal experiences and observations, and offers an account of her adventures and encounters with the unique landscapes, wildlife, and indigenous cultures of the polar regions. |
